Jerald L. Schnoor, Professor of Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, the University of lowa, was selected as the Academician of National Academy of Engineering. During 1991-2002, he served as the Associate Editor of Environmental Science and Technology (ES&T)-the authorities journal in the field of environment, and then served as the Chief Editor during 2002-2014. Thanks to the outstanding contributions in the sustainable exploiting of water resources, he was granted with John Bates Clark Medal in 2010. The main research direction of Professor Jerald L. Schnoor involves in sustainable exploiting of water resources, study on water quality model, phytoremediation and climate changes. Till now, total 7 academic monographs from the perspective of Environmental Modeling, Phytoremediation and others and over 400 articles published in Science, ES &T and other journals have been published, which have been quoted for over 16,000 times in total.
