About Zhejiang University

Located in the historical and picturesque city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang University (ZJU) is one of China’s top higher education institutions, as well as one of its oldest. Its roots can be traced back to 1897 and the founding of the Qiushi Academy. 


Zhejiang University is organized across seven faculties and 36 schools. It is home to 3,741 full-time faculty members, including 46 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. ZJU has 54,641 students, over 53% of whom are postgraduate students.


Zhejiang University is a comprehensive research university with distinctive features and great impacts at home and abroad. 1.Environmental Science and Engineering

Environmental interface chemistry, environmental pollution processes and restoration, environmental pollution and ecological health, air, water & soil pollution control and treatment, solid waste treatment and disposal, environmental biotechnology and engineering, environmental policy and ecological governance, sustainability sciences, etc.

2.Agricultural resources and environment

Soil process and function regulation, soil pollution control and restoration, plant nutrition biology and fertilization regulation, environmental remote sensing monitoring and information technologies, water resources utilization and protection, etc


Expected Applicants

1.Expected applicants should have been engaged in research work in  environmental science and engineering or agricultural resources and environment fields, 38 years old or under.

2. He/She should hold a doctoral degree granted by a well-known overseas university and have been engaged in research work in an overseas higher education or research institution for no less than 3 years (Overseas research work experience refers to the experience of working abroad full-time after receiving a doctoral degree, and does not include the overseas work experience of maintaining employment relationship with domestic institution and receiving remuneration). Or he/she should hold a doctoral degree granted by a well-known domestic university and have been engaged in research work in an overseas higher education or research institution for no less than 3 years (Exception may be made for applicants who have acquired important achievements in research or other fields and hold a doctoral degree granted by overseas university. Exceptions cannot be made for applicants who hold a doctoral degree granted by domestic university).
