Brief introduction of the reporter: 
Liu Jianguo, full Professor with tenure of School of Environment, Tsinghua University, Doctoral Supervisor, Deputy Director of Key Laboratory for Solid Waste Management and Environment Safety, Ministry of Education of China, Council Member of China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, Expert of China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation, Member of Technical Committee of City Appearance and Environmental Sanitation Standardization of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other titles. His research mainly focuses on the sustainable landfill for household wastes and anaerobic digestion technique, converting solid waste into construction materials via thermochemical treatment, heavy pollution site remediation technology and solid waste management system. He has presided over the National Science and Technology Support Plan, 863 Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China and multiple important research projects, and published over 100 theses in major academic journals and international conferences, with that of over 40 collected by SCI, awarded as Science and Technology New Star of Beijing and 6 provincial scientific awards. He has organized and initiated national sustainable solid waste management seminar, served as the Co-chairman of International Conference on Biomass and Waste Energy and editorial board member of Environmental Sanitation Engineering, Urban Management Science & Technology, and scientific advisor of Biomass and Waste Valorisation and Detritus.
