In order to thoroughly implement the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating people, master the modern teaching methods, improve the basic teaching skills, and improve the classroom teaching effect and the quality of talent cultivation, the 2022 Zhejiang University Young Teachers' Teaching Competition (Final) was held on November 25, 2022 in Zijingang Campus. Wang Wei and Luo Yu, two young teachers of our college, stood out from 89 contestants in 37 colleges and departments, and won the first and second prizes of the 2022 Zhejiang University Young Teachers' Teaching Competition.
The chapter selected by Wang Wei on the spot is Bioavailability of pollutants. The course takes the regional characteristics of cadmium rice as the background story, organically integrates the theoretical chemistry principles and practical environmental problems, and vividly explains the concept, influencing factors, regulatory methods and other knowledge points of biological effectiveness based on the relevant research of cadmium rice, so as to stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm in learning and improve students' practical application and innovation ability of professional knowledge. At the same time, it naturally integrates the ideological and political courses such as Pure Land Defense War, and strengthens the sense of responsibility and mission of the study of environmental science. The unique design of the teaching process, the accurate and vivid language expression, the emphasis on interaction with students during the lecture, and the dignified and generous manner have won the unanimous praise of the judges.
The chapter selected by Teacher Luo Yu on the spot is Introduction to Environmental Ecology. The first chapter introduces the relationship between environment and biology and the development process of environmental ecology from the evolution of life on the earth to stimulate students' interest in the course, and then focuses on the environmental factors, the principle of limiting factors, Leibigh's law of minimum factor, Shelford's law of tolerance, ecological amplitude and biological homeostasis, and organically links the course content through the explanation of formulas, cases and other forms, It also reflects the curriculum ideology and politics with human beings' response to environmental changes and human feedback since the industrial revolution, which leads students to think about the relationship between environmental organisms and the responsibility of protecting environmental ecology. The judges were impressed by the reasonable design of the teaching process, the accurate and vivid language expression, and the frequent interaction with students during the lecture.
Through this competition, the two young teachers also have a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and missions of university teachers. Although young teachers are busy with scientific research, they should still urge themselves to continuously improve their teaching ability, cherish and attach importance to every opportunity of lecturing on the stage, improve their teaching level in the communication with students, and effectively achieve the mutual benefit of teaching and research.
